Phoenix’s Yummy Gummy Zoo Adventure is a captivating children’s book that invites young
readers on an imaginative adventure with Phoenix, a young boy exploring a zoo filled with
magical animals and surprises. Designed for children ages 3-7, the book is crafted to engage
imaginations, spark joy, and impart gentle lessons about kindness and curiosity. This story
aims to be a staple in every child's library, one that families will treasure for its charm,
colorful illustrations, and timeless appeal.
Phoenix’s Yummy Gummy Zoo Adventure was born from a blend of personal history and
new friendships. Wes Camp's lifelong love for storytelling was instilled by his mother, who
captivated Wes and his siblings on car rides with tales spun from her own creativity.
Inspired by her spirit and his grandsons’ excitement for stories, Wes set out to create his
first children's book. But as he wrote, he found new inspiration in Phoenix, a remarkable young boy who has recently undergone a heart transplant after being born with half a
heart. Witnessing Phoenix’s strength—and reflecting on his own family’s journey through
health challenges—moved Wes to dedicate his book to this resilient young boy.
In honor of Phoenix and to support children facing medical challenges, Wes is donating 20%
of the proceeds from Phoenix's Yummy Gummy Zoo Adventure to children’s hospitals. This
donation reflects a desire to provide hope and help to families in need of medical care,
offering a way for readers to join in giving back while enjoying a meaningful story.
Wes Camp is a debut children’s author and the creative force behind Phoenix’s Yummy
Gummy Zoo Adventure. His own story begins with a childhood enriched by his mother’s
lively storytelling. Wes carried forward that legacy, weaving tales with his own
grandchildren and creating unforgettable adventures. Now, as a published author, he hopes
to inspire a love of reading and a spirit of compassion in children and families alike.
Wes’s journey also reflects a deep empathy for families facing medical hardships, informed
by his family’s experiences and the resilience he has witnessed. By dedicating his book to
Phoenix and supporting children’s hospitals, Wes aims to share a story that goes beyond the
pages and into the hearts of readers.
